How to claim coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay
This guide will take you step-by-step through completing a coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) claim on the HMRC portal.
HMRC are continually modifying the screens, some steps may appear different.
1. Log in to your business tax account, there is link copied below
Log in to your business tax account via HMRC Online Services.
You can obtain detailed instructions on how to log in here.
2. Select "Access the Coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay Rebate Scheme"

3. Select "Confirm" on the page "Confirm this is the PAYE scheme you want to claim against"

4. Read the disclaimer and select "Accept and continue"

5. "Did you employ fewer than 250 people on 28 February 2020?" select "Yes" and the "continue" if that is the case

6. "Are you claiming for coronavirus Statutory Sick Pay you have already paid to your employees?" select "Yes" and the "continue" if that is the case

7. Enter the number of employees that you are claiming for and select "Continue"

8. Enter the claim period start and end date and select "Continue"

9. Enter the amount of the claim and select "Continue"

10. Select the type of bank account

11. Enter the bank details and select "Continue"

12. Enter the post code where the bank statements are sent and select "Find address"

13. Find the address or enter it manually and select "Continue"
14. Confirm address
15. Enter your contact details and select "Continue"

16. Check the details on the claim page then print or save a PDF copy
17. Select "Confirm and submit" below the declaration
